Fetching the latest county samples.
The verdict is the County of San Diego’s posted status for each station: open, advisory, or closed. The county makes that call, not this page. Stations get sampled every morning and results post the next day. So the newest number here is yesterday’s water.
The number is the latest sample, in DNA copies per 100 ml by ddPCR. The county’s action line is 1,413, validated against San Diego beaches as the ddPCR equivalent of California’s Enterolert standard. When a station is falling we project roughly when it crosses. An advisory lifts on a clean sample, so the projection runs a day or two ahead of the posting. Call it a trend fit. Sewage spikes arrive with little warning. Stations run north to south, Coronado down the Silver Strand to Imperial Beach. If the latest sample is more than two weeks old we skip the projection.
